Dr Ryan is currently a staff specialist surgeon at
Westmead Hospital, specializing in organ transplantation,
dialysis access surgery and laparoscopic general surgery.He
also works as a consultant surgeon at Norwest Private,
Westmead Private and Campbelltown Private Hospitals.
Dr Ryan is a medical graduate of Monash University,
Melbourne and became a fellow of the Royal Australasian
College of Surgeons in 2003. He spent 2 years working
overseas in the National Kidney and Pancreas Transplant
Unit in Dublin, Ireland and returned in 2006 to take
up his transplant surgical appointment at Westmead
Hospital.
Dr Ryan has a special interest in laparoscopic (keyhole)
surgery, in particular laparoscopic hernia repairs,
cholecystectomy (gallbladder), & fundoplication
(antireflux surgery) .He performs laparoscopic gastric
banding separately through his affiliation with the
Australian Institute of Weight Control.
Dr Ryan is involved in continual education in his
surgical field and committed to the process of audit
review in surgical practice.

ASSOCIATE
PROFESSOR HENRY PLEASS
Professor Henry Pleass studied medicine as an undergraduate
at the University of Newcastle Upon-Tyne, England
and trained in general and transplantation surgery
in the North East of England, Edinburgh Scotland and
Sydney Australia. He has published and presented widely
on transplantation and has an MD investigating Xenotransplantation.
He is a conjoint associate professor within the University
of Sydney. His specialty interests are liver and pancreatic
surgery in addition to laparoscopic surgery. He is
a senior staff specialist surgeon at Westmead Hospital
and the surgical head of The Australian National Pancreas
Transplant Program based there. In addition he is
a VMO surgeon at Westmead Private Hospital and a VMO
liver transplant surgeon at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

DR
Vincent Lam.
Dr.
Lam graduated MBBS from University of Sydney in 1998
and completed general surgical training in Sydney
in 2005.
In 2006-2007,
he spent 2 years of post fellowship training in hepatobiliary,
pancreatic and transplant surgery. He worked as the
Asian Surgical Association Clinical Fellow at Queen
Mary Hospital in Hong Kong under the mentorship of
Professor S.T. Fan and Professor C.M. Lo. This is
a renowned center for liver cancer , live donor liver
transplantation and laparoscopic surgery and I had
the opportunity of working with the world leaders
in liver, pancreas and bile duct cancer. |
| Dr.
Lam’s surgical expertise is in surgical management
of liver, pancreas and bile duct cancer aiming to
provide the cure with resection or ablative therapy;
and laparoscopic surgery of liver, gallbladder, pancreas
and spleen. Dr. Lam returned to Sydney in 2008 as
Senior Lecturer in Surgery at the University of Sydney.
He has admitting rights to both the Westmead Public,
Westmead Private Hospitals, Norwest Private Hospital
and Sydney Adventist Hospital.

Interests:
Dr. Lam
has a strong research interest in both primary and
secondary liver cancers.
